    VACANCY

    Foundation Chaplain

    Full-time, permanent

Required from September 2019 (or from January 2020), we are seeking to appoint a Full-time Chaplain in succession to Revd David Owen, who has served the Loughborough Schools Foundation with distinction for ten years.  It is likely that the successful candidate will be ordained, and applications would be welcome from any denomination.

We are a multi-faith community, serving boys and girls of all faiths and none, and applicants must therefore be committed to inclusivity. However, our Christian tradition, dating back to 1495 when the school was instituted within Loughborough Parish Church is of great importance to the whole community. The Chaplain is, in some senses, the guardian of the ethos of the schools, and plays a vital role in the pastoral care of pupils and staff.

Candidates will be expected to have experience of working with young people in an educational or parish context, will be required to teach approximately half a timetable of Religion and Philosophy (or another Humanities subject) at Loughborough Grammar School, and are encouraged to pursue an active involvement in the extra-curricular life of the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Heads, senior staff and Governors in leading the spiritual and religious life of the community.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the school, please contact recruitment@lsf.org to be directed to the appropriate person.

Loughborough Schools Foundation is a charitable foundation of four independent schools in the heart of Loughborough, educating children from 3 to 18 years. It comprises Loughborough Grammar School (boys, 10–18 years), Loughborough High School (girls, 11-18 years), Loughborough Amherst School (Co-educational 4-18 years) and Fairfield Prep School (Co-educational 3-11 years). In addition, the Loughborough Nursery (6 weeks – 4 years) is our day nursery which opened in 2016.

To apply, please complete the application form. The Supporting Information section on the form should be completed as fully as possible, including 2 referees and returned to recruitment@lsf.org.

Closing date for receipt of applications: 10 May 2019 at 5pm

Interviews to be held: w/c 13 May 2019
